2024 Competitions

Brambleton Ladies Golf League (BLGL)

2024 Competitions

Game of the Week:

A fun weekly game funded by the league.  Games are announced prior to play.  After your round, you must complete the Tournament Sheet in order to be eligible to win.  If a tie occurs, the pot is split evenly among the winners.  For weekly games, USGA handicaps are converted to Brambleton handicaps.  Winnings will be distributed at the end of the season.

Closest to the Pin:

Optional weekly contest with a $1.00 contribution per player.  On the designated hole - ususally Hole #8 (Par 3) - the woman hitting her ball on to the green and closest to the hole wins.  The proceeds are divided between the winner and BLGL.

Chip-Ins:

Optional weekly contest with $1 contribution per player.  Proceeds are divided per chip-in among all winners and BLGL.  A chip-in occurs when the ball goes into a hole as the result of any stroke that is not on the putting green (i.e. from the sand, rough, fairway or fringe).  If there are no winners, the money is carried over to the following week(s).

Ringer Round:

The Ringer Round is a season-long competition based on gross scores.  Your best gross score for each hole is recorded and the player with the lowest gross score for the season wins.  For example, let’s say on Week 1 you hit a 6 on Hole #1.  Your score is a 6 for Hole #1.  Then, on Week 2, you score 7 on Hole #1.  You best score remains a 6.  Then, on Week 9, you score a 4.  Now your score is a 4 for the hole.

Point Cup:

The Point Cup is a season-long competition based on net scores.  The purpose is to (1) have more fun, (2) encourage everyone to play as often as they can, and (3) encourage everyone to improve their handicaps.

Points are awarded to each person who completes an 18-hole round, turns in a scorecard, and completes the weekly Tournament sheet.  Since this is a net score competition, you are competing against your own handicap.  Play well and you will finish high up in the ranking.  Depending on your rank against the other players, you receive points as outlined below:

Ties:  Points are given to all for the position tied.  Example:  If three people tie for second place, they are each given the second place points of 360.  The next place finisher finishes in fifth place since four people finished in front of them.

If you pick up on any hole and score an “X”, the hole will be scored as a 10 for Point Cup purposes.
